Poem of the week
Hello! Welcome back, and to those of you just now discovering my blog welcome! I'm glad that you are reading this post.
This poem is about Spring and let me tell you I really like Spring! There is so much beauty in the flowers that bloom in their rich colors and the little green buds poking out of the ground. After the bareness of the trees in winter, it can be exciting to see leaves beginning to grow on their stems. The author of this poem puts excitement and anticipation towards the coming Spring.
This week's poem is:
Spring Song
by William Blake
Spring is coming, spring is coming,
Birdies build your nest;
Weave together straw and feather,
Doing each your best.
Spring is coming, spring is coming,
Flowers are coming too;
Pansies, lilies, daffodillies
Now are coming through.
Spring is coming, spring is coming,
All around is fair;
Shimmer and quiver on the river,
Joy is everywhere
What things are you looking forward to in Spring? Let me know in the comments below. Also if there is a poem you really enjoy let me know in the comments and I might use it in one of my future posts! Until next time, au revoir.
