The Hobbit Chapter 2

 Hey fellow hobbits (at heart)! I love chapter two. Bilbo is on his way, and we're all excited to see what comes next. 

        The chapter starts off with Bilbo waking up and wondering whether the visit from the dwarves and Gandalf. The dishes were confirmation that he had indeed entertained these guests. Poor Bilbo had to wash all of those dishes. I don't always enjoy washing dishes, and all of those dishes would not have been fun to wash! 

        When Bilbo started on his journey, he thought that adventures are actually not so bad after all. Boy was he in for a rude awakening when he saw those trolls. Of course, the dwarves thought it was great to have a burglar to search out the unknown fire ahead of them. I would not have liked to be Bilbo right then! When Bilbo went by the fire, he saw trolls! The trolls were very amusing. Each dwarf was captured until Gandalf arrived and confused the trolls. It was so funny to hear them arguing, and I'm sure that Tolkien had a fun time writing that scene. Gandalf's plan of making them argue until the sun came up was really clever. 

        The group has already found some small treasures in the place the trolls hid their treasures. You'll have to see if they gain any other treasures in the end.  

        I love how good Tolkien is at making the reader interested in the story. A really fun thing to do would be to tell some friends that you want to start a book club.
